Hello all!

I am searching for information regarding my grandfather. He was never heard from again after sometime in 1943. Nothing more is known. I have already contacted WASt, Volksbund, Bundesarchiv, and the German Red Cross looking for information. I have a postcard from my Grandfather to his family at home that was sent from the Eastern Front in Dec. of 1492. The feldpost number is 34928 C. A poster on another forum I have visited says that the feldpost number was assigned to the 2. Company of the Sicherungs-Bataillon 236 in Dec. 1942. I am looking to verify this. I also want to find any and all information regarding this unit as well as what may have happened to my Grandfather (KIA, POW, MIA.....?????). Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

Jason

Hello Jason,

I'd just come across this forum and found this thread. I would like to tell you that I met a person who owned a German militaria shop when I visited Nuremberg in 2008. His son's name was Martin Nagorny (as I had his name card) and I forgot his first name. The old Nagorny told me that his father was KIA/MIA when he was around one year old (they were not originlly lived in Nuremberg as they are from the eastern part of the old Germany). I don't know this would be informative or not as I supposed Nagorny is not a common lastname in Germany, I guess it might be have some relationship to you anyhow. I wish it might be helpful.

Its shop telephone number is 0911/22 44 22
Oder 0170/ 28 64 930

Address: Maxplatz 13, Nurnberg

P.S. This old Nagorny doesn't speak English at all but Mr. Martin Nagorny does.
