Where would you good folks recommend I begin looking for information on an uncle that was captured by the Russians in WWII and never heard from since?

We believe the death date is April 1942 but are not absolutely sure. He was the only one of our family that was taken by the Russians. the rest were captured by the Americans and lived happy and productive lives in the USA.

I would love to know more about the circumstances of my uncle. Thank you in advance!
